About

I am a registered dietitian working in north eastern Ontario near the city of North Bay.  I have “virtual” clients throughout Canada and the US as I use modern technology to communicate with people in the comfort of their homes and offices.  I am passionate about teaching clients to use whole foods in their natural form as much as possible.

I went to “grade 19″ to become a registered dietitian!  First I completed a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Guelph and then Masters of Health Sciences, Community Nutrition at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.  It is no small feat to become a registered dietitian and our services are in high demand.  I continue to mentor dietetic interns from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.

Registered Dietitians are your trusted experts in nutrition

RD’s are health professionals who provides advice on nutrition, food and healthy eating choices to help you look good and feel great.  We take complex medical and nutrition research and make it easier for you to make daily food choices and plan healthy meals.

“Dietitian” and “Registered Dietitian” are protected titles in Canada that can only be used by someone who has completed an accredited University program, one year internship (or a master’s degree) and registration exam.   All dietitians in Canada are governed by a provincial body and must follow an ethical code of conduct and provide evidence-based information.

I do imagine the early homesteaders relied on it and were shown how to make it by the native people. One tablespoon, or 15 ml, has 30 calories and […]
  • Cranberry Banana Date Shake
Here’s a nourishing smoothie that can help get you going in the morning.  I liked it so much I made it three mornings in a row.  If you add less water you will have a thicker sauce that you can eat as a dessert or toss with fresh fruit.  I used frozen bananas and cranberries so I didn’t need ice cubes.  The dates add the right touch of sweetness and help boo […]
